Experience the romance and mystery of authentic desert conditions while at the same time enjoying all the comfort of casual holidaymaking at the Kalahari tented camp site. Barren, smooth sand dunes radiate an invigorating heat all day long and well into the evening, with guests immersed in a beautiful, bramble filled environment, enjoying a gigantic full moon, the crisp desert night, and a wealth of predator sightings around the public watering holes, exciting stories with which to regale each other around the camp fires at the end of the day.

Accommodation is provided in a series of stunning desert tents, furnished with single beds, ceiling fans, and fully equipped kitchens and fridges, bathrooms with WCs and showers. Two of the tents are also wheelchair accessible. A further four family sized desert tents are available for accommodation, as well as the camp’s popular luxury honeymoon tent, complete with double bed, ceiling fans, a fridge, and bathrooms with WCs and showers. The units are also complete with wooden deck and braai (barbecue) areas.

The camp offers extraordinary self driven and guided game viewing to its guests, 4 x 4 trails, and walking loops for those more interested in exploring the area around the camp on foot.

Kalahari also provides a visitor's swimming pool, unfenced from the rest of the park, and monitored by the park staff for protection.

Kgalagadi park is home to an extensive range of dry-land-condition wildlife, including gemsbok, cheetah, giraffe, eland, Spotted Hyena, springbok, lion, Red Hartebeest, and Short-Tailed Gerbil. Arguably more notable to the area is the park’s huge 280 strong indigenous bird population, including Tawny and Black-breasted (chested) Snake Eagle, Gabar Goshawk, Pale Chanting Goshawk, bateleur, Greater Kestrel, White-backed and Lappet-faced Vulture, and Pygmy Falcon.
