What a wonderful getaway!
We recently spent a long weekend at Forever Resorts Gariep, for a family reunion. There were 23 of us altogether. We had a thoroughly enjoyable time. The facilities were great, very well maintained and clean. The chalets were comfortable, clean and spacious. We found the staff member who cleaned the rooms each morning to be very courteous and helpful.

Caravan Park
We have had a wonderful time and it was interesting doing the Dam tour with a well prepared Guide ( I think it was Joseph ?)and then the amazing experience of an overflowing Dam wall 2 days afterwards. The entertainment was Great at the Swimming pool and all the other facilities were well kept and in good condition. The only negative realy for me was the condition of the sites itself. The soil were very hard with virtually no grass at some sites. Could also be the trees that have an influence here, but it is always nice to camp under trees in summer and there were ample big trees. Overall a very good experinec and we will go there again.
Cheers and compliments to the Staff at the resort Sarel.
Ps: nearly forgot, we had an amazing Supper on Xmas Day. It was delicious and 5 star at the Oceans. !!!

One night stay at the Gariep Resort
As a one night stay it was perfect .The cottages were great and well appointed with beautiful view of the dam in a quiet area in the resort. Our cottages were not ready when we arrived around 16.00 pm ...so we were offered a complimentary cool drink around the pool!(they had been very busy and the cottages were left in a very bad state by the previous occupants. We got a tel call at around 17.00pm to tell us to go to our cottages that were almost ready. The children and adults enjoyed the pool and in general we had a great time ( As a rule I don't like resorts but it was a good plan to stop for one night on our way to Lesotho....I would do it again. A great stopover place on our way home.
Our accommodation was comfortable and we enjoyed the peaceful surroundings of the Gariep Resort after our 5 hr journey from P.E.We had a good supper in the restaurant. The grounds and swimming pool area were very neat and well kept by the grounds staff.

As far as our stay at the Gariep Resort I must say that it was excellent. The unit we stay at was clean and it was fantastic and as far as the resort it self is concern I will have no problem in recommending it to any body and so for your assistance in helping with the booking and information on your website was apreciated.

We stayed one night on our return from Plet. at the Gariep Stijl Hotel but trhe experience was not as good as one would expect from a "four star Hotel". The accommodation was great but the service in the resturant was very poor and not to mention the reception which was very poor. Our impression on arrival was more like "if they doing you a favour" to put you up for the night. As far as the price is concern which excludes breakfast is not what one will expect from a hotel at this level.

Yes to conclude I will any time stay at the Gariep Resort again but the Gariep Stiljl Hotel not at all.

Stay Gariep Dam
It was very nice and enjoyable. Facilities good. Apartments good, clean and well equiped. There were no inventory in apartment 232. There were one pot and ice bucket short. It was picked up because we booked 4 chalets. It was reported. Thanx for a nice stay. Unfortunately the swimming pool were closed.

Gariep resort
Chalets were very comfortable and well appointed. Unfortunately we only stayed for one night and could therefore not make use of the facilities provided.

However, the view over the dam was amazing and our short stay very pleasant.

Gariep over night.
Reception - good, Bungalow. neat, tidy, clean , comfortable. Restaurant, Dinner. Prices reasonable to good. Service below average to poor. Food, poor to very poor. Breakfast. Service below average to poor. Food served cold. Coffee like dishwater.
Over all, will stay again but avoid restaurant.

Fantastically Comfortable
What do we as a family have to say about Gariep Resort - well........... it was fantastically comfortable, clean and well appointed. The views were awesome and we all wished we could stay longer and next time we will! Thank you for all the attention to detail - it was much appreciated.

Gariep Resorts
Gariep Resorts was a great overnight stop en route back to Joburg. The kids could swim and run around and play and we had a relaxed braai. Staff were friendly and efficient

Complications
Thank you for the opportunity to make the booking your company. When I slept over the 1st night (March 26), everything was in order and the staff friendly. However, one the 2nd night (April, 8), I arrived before 12 and was told that the rondawel will not be ready before 3pm. I had to sit with the children at the pool until around 2pm, when I was allowed to obtain the key. I used the bathrooms at the entrance – which were dirty, without soap or paper.

Vars lug en vryheid - Gariep
Ek was aangenaam verras toe ek vir die eerste keer in 15 jaar weer by die oord tuisgegaan het. Hierdie keer saam met my man en twee seuns. Eerstens was dit wonderlik om soveel pragtige groen grasperke en goed versorgde tuine te sien. Ons kom van Port Elizabeth waar ons nou al lank onder streng waterbeperkings gebuk gaan. Dit was 'n wonderlike ervaring om so 'n lieflike vol dam te sien en die reën te kon ervaar. Die koue weer en temperatuur van die swembad het ons nie afgesit nie, en ons het die pragtige groot skoon swembad baie geniet. Ons is almal baie lief vir die water. Die chalets is pragtig en netjies binne en buite. Die verblyf was net te kort - ons sou graag nog van die ander aktiwiteite wou probeer. Dit lyk ideaal vir 'n groot familie-saamtrek wat ons vir volgende jaar beplan. Ons sal beslis terug wees en volgende keer ordentlik lank bly!

Happy with stay at Gariep Resorts
My family and I really enjoyed our stay at Gariep Resorts. We were surprised at the peace and tranquility and how beautiful it was. The service was great and we were impressed at how clean it was. We would stay at Gariep anytime and the campers between us will definately start camping there as well. Thank you for a great stay.

Nice Place
Hi,

We stayed over at Gariep Forever resorts on our way back from Cape Town. It was very neat and clean. It was still during the holiday season, and the only thing that bothered us was that all the facilities where closed. The putt-putt, the games room etc.
If it was during out of season, it would be understandable. We were there on the 4th Jan 2009.
The food in the restaurant was great and the staff were very friendly. It is a nice place to stay over between Jnb and Cpt.

Xariep Aventura Resort
Wow! The service at the office was very friendly and the lady who helped us to book in was very helpful. The caravan park was clean and the ablution facilities were superb. What a delite to stop over after 6 hours in the car and then relax until the next morning. Thank you Gariep resort, we will definitely sleep over again.
